On March 29th, the first World Meteorological Centres Workshop concluded in Beijing and achieved many results. In the future, the World Meteorological Centres will improve cooperation mechanisms and build World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Earth System Prediction together to serve the global community.

The meeting summary will be submitted to the WMO as an important reference for the 18th World Meteorological Congress in June 2019.

WMCs will construct cooperative mechanism to provide better services for WMO's members and other users. They will take action to boost implementation of Seamless GDPFS in many ways such as improving climate projections for community resilience, distilling the data along the timescales seamlessly and developing full chain products, enhancing impact-based forecasting, strengthening data sharing and exchange, etc.

WMCs will provide supports for capacity development for National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) in Least Developed Countries(LDCs) and Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) via some high priority pilot projects including carrying out plans on Asian typhoon activities, developing Air Quality forecast systems in Africa, predicting of hydrological extremes and so on.

Moreover, WMCs will continue to tap into their potential roles and user needs and possibly establish a mechanism to support humanitarian activities.

Participants expressed their sincere gratitude to WMO and the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) for co-sponsoring the meeting. They reached consensus that the meeting was of great significance to enhancing global forecasting capabilities. In the future, they will face new challenges together, expand and deepen communication and cooperation to serve the community.

On March 28, the participants visited the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) and praised China's meteorological operation for its rapid development and improved services in recent years.
